Barren Woman Pours Acid On Husband Thinking It Is A Love Charm To Make Him Stay With Her Forever

“The woman who gave me a substance told me that it was a charm meant to endear my husband to me. I never knew that what she gave me was acid. All I was trying to do was to keep my husband’s love so that he would not think of leaving me, because I know that my marriage with any other man would not endure because of my barrenness.”

These were that words of Remi Agunbiade (38), a resident of Ita Barika, Foko area of Ibadan, Oyo State, after she was arrested by the policemen from Iyaganku Division over an alleged attempt to kill her husband, one Olawale Shola, by pouring acid on him on January 27, 2016.

The incident occurred less than 24 hours after a similar happening at Oje area of Ibadan where a man allegedly poured a bottle of acid on the mother of his two kids for reasons best known to him. But the difference is that while the Oje suspect ran away after committing the act, the Foko victim, Shola prevented his assailant from escaping as he ran after her and held her until neighbours came to assist him in preventing the lady from running away.

Crime Reports learnt that the Foko incident happened at about 9a.m while Shola was lying down in a room he stayed with his partner, Remi.

In an interview with Remi after her arrest, the lady, who also got some of the acid on her skin, claimed ignorance of the substance she poured on her partner, saying that she thought it was a love charm.

According to her, “I met Shola in 2003 and we have been together since then. He was the one who forced me to abort for him twice, and since then, I have not been able to get pregnant again. Then, he had a wife with two kids.

“When I had my first pregnancy, he said that his wife was also pregnant with their third child, asking me to abort mine, which I did. He used to schedule his stay between the two of us. We used to quarrel often and this got me worried because I knew that if he left me, I would not be able to have another steady relationship since no man would be willing to live with a barren woman.

“I met a lady called Iya Azeez at a provision stall at Agbeni market, Ibadan. During our discussion, I intimated her of my challenges and said that I didn’t want to leave my husband. She replied that I would have to resolve the issue through self-help. I asked for assistance to stop further quarrels between me and my husband and she said she would help me get water that had been prayed into from an Alfa, stating that all I would need to do is to sprinkle it on my husband, after which he would love me without holding anything back. She gave me a bottle containing the liquid substance on Tuesday, January 26.

“On Wednesday morning, my partner, Shola, was lying down when I took the bottle and poured the content on his head. He cried in agony from sleep and I also shouted and ran out. But he followed me and caught up with me beside the house next to ours.

“He asked people to help him hold me so that I would not run away. By then, a huge crowd had gathered and it was then they started saying that it was acid that I poured him. Some of the liquid got rubbed on my body when he held me, giving me some burns.”

The suspect claimed that she did not know the residence of the friend who gave her the purported bottle of liquid, saying that she only met the lady about two months ago. She confirmed that she quarrelled with her husband concerning accommodation, since she already told him that she was tired of living with him in a room she rented herself.

“I decided to pack everything out of the room to another place, leaving it bare. His friends intervened and he came to sleep in the room with me on Tuesday. My action was because I didn’t want to have another husband.”

She also disclosed that her husband started dating another lady in her neighbourhood about three years ago, and that the lady used to scorn her childlessness. Remi added that her husband rented a room for the lady.

Crime Reports was also at the Burns Unit of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan where the victim was on admission. He narrated his experience thus: “Remi and I have been together for over 11 years. My relationship with her caused a friction between her and my first wife who has four children for me.

“I used to defend Remi anytime she had a quarrel with my first wife, especially because she had yet to have a child. At a time, I abandoned my first wife to be with Remi when the first wife cursed Remi and said she would never have any child till she would quit relationship with me.

“Also about three years ago, I started dating a lady. This caused Remi to be threatening her. She even went as far as quarrelling with the lady. Last year, I discovered that my first wife was already dating another man because of the neglect she suffered from me. As a result, I called Remi in October 2015 and told her that I would have to share days of the week between her and my first wife. Initially, she was angry at my suggestion but later said I should start in January 2016.

“I went to my first wife twice in January and by the I returned to Remi’s place, she had changed the lock and had packed all her belongings and mine. She also collected my phone from me under the pretext that she wanted to use it. After my friend’s intervention, she returned on Monday, January 25. But I went to sleep in the third lady’s house. On Tuesday, I went to Remi’s place and stayed there with her in the bare room.

“On Wednesday, I was lying down, waiting for a friend. Suddenly, I felt a warm liquid on me. As I opened my eyes, I saw as she was about to run out and I went after her. I raised the alarm and people came. I told them that she had already threatened that she would do an unforgettable thing to me. That was how I was rushed to the hospital.”

Shola admitted asking Remi to have an abortion in the past, but said it was only once.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the story, said that the suspect was still undergoing investigation, adding that she would be arraigned to court at the conclusion of investigation.

Ajisebutu warned members of the public against adopting acid as a weapon of revenge, saying that the act was criminal.

OAP Freeze Showers Love On His New Woman (Read)

When a man sends his wife away due to disrespect, infidelity or any other bad acts, the next thing should not be to start showing off a new lady. To me I think you're "married" and as such you should be sober so as not to allow the wrong things that happened with your first wife repeat themselves.

But if you're occupied with showing off so your ex-wife can see the fine lady you are now dating, you may lose focus of the reality that marriage is a divine institution and things could go wrong again.

Popular OAP Freeze is "done" with his first wife but they have kids together. See photo of him and his first wife when their love was sweet and also read what he wrote about his new lady...

Queen Mother Chased Out of Palace in Delta State For Adultery

Several residents of the Idumuje-Ugboko Community in Aniocha North area of Delta State were pensive on Saturday following the revelations by the queen mother, Okwukwe Nwoko, that she was sent away from the palace two years ago over allegation of infidelity.

Madam Okwukwe accused the crown prince and his loyalists of framing her and sending her out of the palace so the former could achieve his desire of succeeding the 90-year old monarch.

Now she is threatening a court action to reclaim her position in the palace...

The monarch, Obi Agbogidi Nwoko III, married four wives but divorced two while one is dead, leaving Madam Okwukwe as the only recognised wife staying with him before the alleged adultery.

37yrs old Madam Okwukwe, in an interview with newsmen said she was unjustly accused of infidelity and sent out of the palace with seven-month-old pregnancy, which she claim belonged to the king.

She said has troubles started after a failed plan to reconcile one of the King's former wives with the palace and some persons vowed that no wife of the Obi would remain in the palace since the move failed.

The queen mother claimed that when she was accused of infidelity, she agreed to a DNA test or be allowed to take the traditional oath to prove her innocence. She said her accusers refused and drove her out despite the unproven case of infidelity.

Madam Okwukwe said  while the matter was being addressed, she was stopped from entering the palace.

According to her, she lived peacefully with the monarch before the incident. She stated that the pregnancy she was accused of getting through infidelity produced a baby who is now about three years old.

She also said the baby had neither been seen nor touched by her father since her birth.

Madam Okwukwe has appealed to the Obi-in-Council, opinion leaders and the royal family to intervene in the matter, adding that she “wants to go back to the palace and take care” of her husband.

But a member of the royal family, identified as Prince Obi Nwoko, is insisting that Madam Okwukwe  indeed committed infidelity and cannot be allowed back into the palace according to tradition.

Editor Responsible For Eritrea Hoax Story Transferred To New Job (Read)

The Standard Media editor who delivered a blow to African quality journalism by promoting gender stereotyping and sexism by knowingly publishing false stories about women in Tanzania and Eritrea has been moved from his job. According to Kenyan media reports, Standard Media Group Digital Editor, David Ohito who approved two hoax stories was moved to another job.

Standard Group Digital Editor, David Ohito has tarnished the groups image and overall credibility and has been transferred to Kisumu to ‘put things in order’, a statement published by Kenyan Business read.

Two stories could have triggered the move by the media group according to close sources – the ban on mini-skirts in Tanzania and compulsory polygamy in Eritrea – could have necessitated the action.

Tanzania vehemently protested the story, with the office of President John Pombe Magufuli releasing a statement on the Standard, which was forced to pull out the story and apologise. Eritrean Information Minister, Yemane Gebremeskel, was not impressed either and expressed his disgust at the negative light in which Eritrea had been portrayed.

My Lord, Honourable Justice Nasiru Ajanah, The Chief Judge of Kogi State.
Royal Fathers and Revered Custodians of Our Traditional Institutions.
Members of the Diplomatic Corps.
Our Distinguished Guests from Far and Near.
My Dearly Beloved People of Kogi State.
All other Protocols deemed as duly observed.

It is with great Joy that I receive you all to the warm hospitality of Kogi State of Nigeria today. Kogi is the Confluence State, the Geographical Bridge between every Nigerian and his Compatriot. You are indeed welcome.

Life is a precious thing and we cannot earn or own it. It is given to us freely. We often take it for granted, failing to recognize its importance or significance. Should it not instead instill an immense sense of gratitude in our hearts to the One Who created life and gave it to us? "It is God Who brought you out of your mothers’ wombs knowing nothing, and gave you hearing and sight and minds so that you may be grateful"  The Quran 16:78.  Say "O Allah, owner of Kingdoms. You give your Kingdom to whom you desire. And you take your Kingdom from whom you desire. You honour whom you desire. And you humble whom you desire. In your hand all is GOOD. Indeed you are  over all things COMPETENT." Quoran 3 vs 26.

I stand here today a grateful man. I am grateful to:

Almighty God, the Eternal One who led a young boy, fatherless while still a baby to this momentous day of my Swearing-In as the Governor of this Great State, and her humble Servitor.

Alhaji Bello Ipemida Ochi, my father, whose evergreen memories and legacies remain till today despite his death early in my life. Hajiya Hauwau Oziohu Bello, my model mother. Oziandu Obanyi, your hand rocked my cradle, and you still rock my world. Despite the anguish of young widowhood, your values steadied me through the turbulence of youth and years of self-discovery. All my siblings, especially Prof. Iliyasu Bello Ohiani, my elder brother, who became the father that I know.

My family. My dear wives and children were Wonderful. In particular, Hajiya Rashida Bello followed me on this chequered journey with a devotion and sacrifice that is astounding.

President Muhammadu Buhari, the one man who epitomizes the Personal Discipline, Rugged Determination and Honest Discretion I intend to model as Governor of Kogi State.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The APC National Leader is arguably the most singularly successful Nigerian Politician of this Democratic Dispensation. His Vision has given wings to those of many of his followers, including ourselves.

Prince Abubakar Audu, the Late Icon whose foresight and doggedness paved the way for the Victory we are celebrating today. Continue to rest in peace my Leader.

My Core Team, especially the Progressive Youth of Kogi State led by my right-hand man, Edward Onoja. Their doggedness and forthrightness brought home to me in a very personal way that popular line ‘Though tribes and tongues may differ, in brotherhood we stand…’ They are the apostles of this broad-minded Change.

The APC Family. The APC in Kogi State wanted Change for their dear State and worked hard to bring it. The APC at the National Level provided the Platform.

The entire People of Kogi State. Irrespective of who you are or where you stood during the elections, Na God Win. We are all united today, celebrating the outcome. My People, you are my one big Constituency, and I am responsible for, and to each and every one of you.

Nigeria has a rich diversity of traditions, cultures and history but it is instructive that in searching for a philosophy for this New Direction my Team and I did not have to go very far to locate the perfect response for our times:

Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to reiterate what President Muhammadu Buhari said in his celebrated Swearing-In Speech on May 29, 2015: “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody!”

This quote is a complete worldview which defines the PURPOSE and METHODOLOGY of my Administration, and sets an AGENDA OF INCLUSIVENESS, which I am determined will characterize my tenure.

In this single sentence, Mr. President summarized the restorative force of the CHANGE ideology with which our great party, the APC, has swept Nigeria. I now declare it our guiding principle for fair action and equitable governance in Kogi State.

My Administration shall exist for the sole purpose of serving the superseding interests of the people of Kogi State to the very best of its capabilities. We also undertake to never lend our capacities to servicing the avarice of anyone or group–whether from Kogi State or elsewhere.

There is no greater evil than Corruption and nothing champions that evil more than Impunity…Corruption and Impunity made sure our people repeatedly arrived at a promised future and found it bereft of substance, or the promised better life.

Let it be recorded today that future generations will not be given reason to count the incoming Administration among those who reveled in Corruption or Impunity. We will be different by the Grace of God. We must and will be that generation of Leaders who made the entirety of Kogi’s Resources work for the entirety of Kogi’s People.

Accordingly, I hereby declare and affirm that the Yahaya Bello Administration will have ZERO TOLERANCE for Corruption and Impunity. I will lead Kogi State by honest and humble example. So help me God.

To reinforce our commitment to accountability, the incoming Administration will employ technology and a multilayered system of checks and balances to block all leakages in our financial processes and improve our wealth creation and retention capacities.

The rule of law is key to effective governance. We intend to work hand in hand with the Judicial Arm of Government and the Legislature to deliver the best governance possible to Kogi State. In this regard, we shall be guided by both legislations and binding judicial decisions.

Peace is key for prosperity. The sudden events that culminated in my emergence as Governor are beyond any mortal man. The sudden death of our leader, Prince Abubakar Audu remains a great mystery. This Administration shall liaise with the Kogi State House of Assembly for legislation to immortalise him in some meaningful way. I therefore extend my hand of brotherhood to all and sundry.

In the course of this journey we met and interacted with families, kindreds, clans, hamlets, villages, towns and cities, traversing the length and breadth of Kogi State and the picture we came away with is a depressing one. Everywhere, our People live in deprivation despite our abundant natural endowments.

The statistics as they apply to Kogi State are not rosy. As we step into Office today, we are at once excited and tremulous. Excited at the great opportunities but tremulous at the massive challenges. One thing is clear, positive and decisive action must be taken quickly to rescue Kogi State. We are ready for action.

We are conscious that to fail in this task is to fail in everything else. But take it from me, we will not fail because, apart from our preparations and resolve, God and good is on our side.

We have conceived a socio-economic Blueprint that we trust God will rapidly develop our State and radically empower our People. The said Blueprint will rank as a sort of Marshall Plan for rebuilding Kogi State on every index of Development.

Under this Plan, Education and Health Infrastructure, State of the Art Security Coverage, Roads, Rural Water Schemes, Farm and Agricultural Communes, heavy Investments in Solid Minerals, Artisanal Mining Collectives, repositioning of Kogi State as a preferred tourist destination, etc. are projected to play lead, often overlapping, roles.

We will run this Blueprint along with Civil Service reforms to change the orientation of our workers and improve their productivity. To show that we are ready to work and not just talking, the Blueprint contains ‘Action Plans’ for developing each sector. We expect that we will see begin to see increase in our Internally Generated Revenue.

For ease of monitoring by Kogi People my Team and I have distributed our Projects into the 100-Day Accomplishments, the First Year Results, the Halfway Marks and the Final Milestones. When our full Blueprint is published, anyone can predict where we will be, developmentally, in 100 days, and after each year of our Administration.

Security is a huge concern across Kogi State as we step into Office - in particular the dastardly and twin scourges of armed robbery and kidnapping. I therefore acknowledge with pleasure the Commissioner of Police and Heads of every Security Agency in Kogi State. Gentlemen, I shall be meeting with you soon to fashion out modalities to rid Kogi State of Insecurity. Please have forceful and actionable proposals for me when we meet. I promise you every support that this Administration can give.

Nothing engenders skepticism, even cynicism, in the citizen than lackluster leadership of the sort that we have experienced in the Confluence State. I am aware that with some notable exceptions successive Administrations have posted largely unimpressive performances. The cumulative effect is that the average Kogi Person has developed an acute distrust of Government.

We cannot succeed, in our Blueprint or anything else, without the co-operation of our People and our friends. Co-operation is difficult if trust is withheld. My people, we shall build rapport, and by delivering on our proposed array of people-centered projects, we shall earn your trust. I would appreciate, and I ask for nothing, other than that you give me the benefit of the doubt as we set off. Let the taste of this pudding be in the eating.
We know salaries have not been paid to some of our Civil Servants for some months now. We propose to commence paying as promptly as possible while implementing strategies to gradually defray the arrears. While doing this we shall count on the understanding of all the good people of Kogi State.

We shall immediately commence consultations with all stakeholders to get the buy-in of every progress-minded individual into every agenda that we have designed to move Kogi State in the New Direction. I see this as a Challenge and I am resolved to win your trust.

Today is indeed an auspicious day. We will not fail to appreciate those who made it possible. My predecessor, Captain Idris Ichalla Wada, has been most gracious. We appreciate your service sir. The Transition Committees on both sides have acted with dignity and cooperation. We thank you. The Inauguration Committee has really worked hard to make this day a success. Thank you very much indeed.

Change has come to Kogi State. I may be the Torchbearer, and Custodian of it, but you, the great united people of Kogi State, are its Owners and Proprietors. Let us arise together, take our Collective Destiny in our hands and go forth excitedly to chart our New Direction. Kogi, THIS CHANGE IS YOURS.

Distinguished Listeners, this speech is an overview, it is not intended to say everything that we have to say, or plan to do, in Government. That being the case, I hasten to conclude.

God bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria.
God bless Kogi State of Nigeria.
God bless you.

Thank you for listening.

The EFCC has arrested Abumere Joseph Osagie, who is the deputy director, regional tax office, of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), in a case of flagrant abuse of office and bribery.

The suspect was picked up following a complaint about his attempt to extort a University proprietor of N5m. Mr Osagie and a lady, Jamila Ojora had on January 27, 2016 allegedly approached Senator Ahmed Datti, the Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja and gave him a tax assessment of N20,029, 496.00 through a letter of intent, which he paid.

Police are tracking her and hopefully they will get her.

EFCC Official Allegedly Batters 19-Year-Old Girl After Impregnating Her (Photo)

There was a show of shame recently at the premises of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after one of the operatives allegedly battered a 19-year old canteen attendant he allegedly impregnated in Lagos.

The teenager was allegedly assaulted at the EFCC office located on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos where the operative works as exhibit keeper.

The victim, Blessing Nwokpa, who was a canteen attendant at the EFCC premises was allegedly impregnated by the EFCC operative identified as Okeke Edward, who refused to take responsibility for the pregnancy.

P.M.News gathered that rather, Okeke allegedly offered her money to terminate the pregnancy but Blessing refused. For her obstinacy, Blessing who was living with Edward as a squatter, allegedly became an object of battering and assault by him.

Edward allegedly threw her and her belongings out of his house and sent her away from his house at 23, Akinseji street, Fadeyi.

Blessing, who is now seven months pregnant, became homeless and could not feed herself after she was sacked from the canteen when she became pregnant.

Frustrated by Edward’s action, Blessing went to EFCC office where Edward works to request for money to feed and for ante-natal care. When Edward saw her at EFCC premises, he allegedly descended on her and battered her to the extent that she collapsed and was later rescued.

Sources said the intervention of senior officers saved Blessing from further battering.

Following the assault, Blessing went to the Legal Aids Council of Nigeria whose office is located in Ikoyi and reported the matter.

P.M.News gathered that Blessing was brought to Lagos by her brother and got her a job as canteen attendant at the EFCC office.

While she was there, her brother had accommodation problem and Blessing, who said she was then a virgin, started sleeping at the canteen at the end of the day’s work.

She said when Edward saw her there and asked her why she was sleeping at the canteen, she informed him that her brother had accommodation problem and was tring to get another place.

She said Edward offered to assist her and asked her to be sleeping in his house pending when her brother would get another accommodation.

She alleged that during the night, Edward would lure her into sex and eventually deflowered her and impregnated her.

Blessing said that initially, she did not know she was pregnant and when she was having unusual feeling in her body, she went to a hospital and conducted a pregnancy test and it was positive.

She said she informed Edward about the result of the test and he became angry and gave her N18,000 to go and abort the pregnancy but she refused.

Consequently, she said Edward started beating her and later threw her and her belongings out of his house for refusing to abort the baby.

She said when she became pregnant, she stopped going to work and had no money to feed herself which made her go to his office to seek help.

Blessing said when he saw her in the office on the fateful day, he began to beat her until other EFCC staff and people around came to her rescue.

She said it was the people there that directed her to Legal Aids Council to complain and seek their assistance.

She said when the Legal Aids Council invited Edward to settle the matter, he told them that he would not come and boasted that nothing would happen.

Blessing lamented that she is starved daily and she was not asking him to marry her rather, she wants him to take care of the pregnancy and after she delivers, she would look for ways to move on with her life.

When our reporter visited the EFCC to meet Edward for comment, our reporter was told that he was not in the office.

When he was contacted on phone, he refused to pick his call. He also did not respond to text messages sent to him by our reporter.

P.M.News gathered that Blessing has been referred to an NGO located in Ogba area for assistance.
