A 41-yr-old herbalist, Bidemi Idowu, has been arrested by the police in Ogun State for allegedly possessing fake currencies. Idowu was also accused of being a fraudster. It was gathered that the suspect duped a 21-year-old of N400,000, after which he gave his victim a herbal concoction, which affected his health. Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect was exposed by the victim’s father, Basiru Amosun. He said: “Amosun reported that the suspect fraudulently collected N400,000 from his son, Habeeb Amosun, 21. He said the suspect collected the money under false pretence that he would prepare a money doubling charm for him. He gave the victim a concoction to drink, which caused him stomach disorder. Upon report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ajose Muhammed, sent detectives to arrest the suspect. A search warrant was issued and the N400,000 allegedly collected from the victim was recovered.
Also recovered were 59 pieces of 1,000 fake CFA, one piece of $50, 600 pieces of fake N1,000 notes and charms.” Oyeyemi appealed to parents to advise their children against quick money.
